Terms & Conditions

  1. All announcements made on the day of the auction supersede all other announcements including any printed materials or publications.  Be sure to listen to the opening announcements as terms of the sale may change depending on the needs of Metro Government.

  2. For sale dates, inventory list and additional updates visit our website often.  Inventory list is provided by Metro Impound, not us.

  3. All auctioned vehicles and items are sold for salvage/parts only with no guarantee whatsoever a vehicle title can be obtained.Neither Metro Louisville Government nor Auctions ASAP will assist in obtaining any title or license for vehicles sold at this auction.  In addition, some vehicles may have a lenders lien against them. For those buyers wishing to obtain a title, the Impound Lot will supply you with a copy of any certified letter receipts sent to the owner(s) or lien holders.  You will be provided a Bill of Sale upon payment. Present these documents to the county clerk when obtaining a title.  It may take a few weeks to a couple of months to obtain the copies/paperwork from the Impound Lot so be patient. 

  4. All vehicles & items sold at auction without exception will be sold as is, where is, with no warranties/guarantees expressed written or implied. There will be no refunds, exchanges, credits, tags or titles given for any reason.  It is your responsibility to determine its value prior to bidding given any and all auction constraints. This sale is subject to the caveat emptor principle.

  5. Any vehicle, at the discretion of Metro Government, may be removed from the auction inventory list at any time prior to its sale.  Owners have a legal right to claim impounded vehicles right up to its sale once they have settled with the Impound Lot.  Vehicles may also be pulled to meet the needs of Metro Government.

  6. Neither Metro Louisville Government nor Auctions ASAP will be responsible for any and all accidents or injuries.  All parties entering the Impound Lot facility does so of their own free will and assumes all personal risk and liability.

  7. In order to bid, you must have a bid number.  To get a bid number you must present a valid photo ID starting at 9:00am day of sale.  You must use a new bid number every sale.To be on the lot you must have a bidder number.

  8. The Kentucky Revenue Cabinet requires the collection of KY Sales Tax on all impound vehicles sold during this auction.  A valid Resale Certificate/Tax Exempt form MUST be presented during the Bidder Registration Process in order to be exempt from paying KY Sales Tax.  If you are a dealer, parts wholesaler, or an individual buying to resale, you must present and leave with us a copy of your Tax Exempt/Resale Certificate along with filling out the state exemption form for our files.  All persons buying for personal use will pay KY sales tax along with any persons or companies that have failed to provide valid Tax Exempt/Resale certificates during the Bidder Registration Process.  Also, out of state buyers must present their out-of-state Tax Exempt/Resale Certificate during the Bidder Registration Process to be exempt from paying KY Sales Tax.  We must collect KY Sales Tax at all auctions.

  9. There will be an additional $20 surcharge per vehicle or item purchased that is paid to and required by Metro Government for administrative fees.

  10. A ten percent (10%) buyer’s premium will be added to your winning bid price to determine the final bid price.

  11. If using a credit card, it must be in your name and you must present valid ID at time of sale. A 3% credit card processing fee applies.To avoid this credit card processing fee, CASH is accepted.

  12. Full payment, including any required taxes, administrative fees, buyer’s premium and credit card fees (if using a credit card) are required day of sale.Accepted payment methods include CASH, Visa and MasterCard.No checks.

  13. Nothing can be removed from the Impound Lot before payment is made in full.  When removing items or vehicles, you must present a paid invoice to the Impound Lot Personnel for inspection.

  14. All vehicles and other items must be removed from the Impound Lot facility before 5:00 PM on the Friday following the auction.  Any vehicle or remaining item left after that time is subject to impoundment and a storage charge may be assessed.

  15. At the close of bidding, winning bidders are responsible for protecting their merchandise from damage or theft.Neither Metro Government nor Auctions ASAP assume any responsibility for loss or damage.

  16. Without exception, all purchases must be paid in full immediately following the auction. Buyers have one hour after the auction ends to make payment.

  17. No work is to be done on any vehicle or item while on the Impound Lot or any of its facilities.  No keys can be made on the property.  Vehicles cannot be driven off the property and they MUST BE TOWED.  Vehicles cannot be parked on the outside of the fenced area.Any violations of this rule will result in permanent barring from all future auctions and the vehicle or item will be impounded.

  18. No alcohol, illegal drugs. pets or weapons of any kind are allowed on the lot.

  19. No dumping of trash, tires, car parts and anyone caught dumping will be barred from the lot.

  20. No one under 18 is allowed on the Impound Lot.  No one is allowed on the lot after dark.

  21. Any bidder who does not pay for their bids will be barred from all auctions going forward.

  22. Metro employees and auction staff reserve the right to bid at today’s sale being a public auction.  They will be held to all the rules & fees including buyer’s premium like everyone else.

  23. Auctions ASAP reserves the right to accept bids in any increment that is in the best interest of the seller. Auctions ASAP reserves the right to reject the bidding of any person or persons whose conduct, actions, or adverse comments are not in the best interest of the seller.  If Auctions ASAP deems there to be collusion among bidders, the auction may be canceled, or the parties may be directed to leave or be escorted off the premises.

  24. You must stay within 50ft of the auctioneer at all times, while in the auction pen.  Should you wonder off you will be asked to leave and barred from the auction.  Metro Government is trying to crack down on theft.  Don’t be the first to get kicked out.
